I woke gradually to sunlight creeping
under the drapes like spilt water,
on the radio news, individuals were
talking solemnly concerning
remembrance, for an instant
it made me think,
that perhaps that sufficed,
simply to briefly keep in mind,
and most likely what all those
young children would certainly have
asked us to do, simply remember
